The Parkway Place Planning Initiative is a collaborative effort to create a dynamic and transformative plan for Parkway Place that will positively impact residents and the surrounding Algonquin neighborhood. The initiative’s boundaries span from Hill Street to Algonquin Parkway, and from 11th Street to the railroad tracks running along 14th Street.
LMHA has hired LRK, a national architectural, design, and planning firm, to lead the 12-month planning process. The success of these plan-making efforts will be tied to community participation through a variety of events and workshops, including meetings with residents, neighborhood businesses, supportive service providers, other community stakeholders, and Louisville Metro Government and LMHA staff. LRK will be gathering input on current residents’ needs, as well as Parkway Place’s and the surrounding area’s assets and challenges. The final plan will include goals and strategies centered around People, Housing, and the Neighborhood. The Parkway Place planning process was officially launched in July 2025.. With the help of the community, the final plan is estimated to be complete by June 2026.
Meet Our Resident Ambassadors
Congratulations to our Parkway Place Resident Ambassadors. This team of seven residents joined the Planning Team in late August 2025. They will be reaching out to their neighbors and other residents throughout the planning process. If you see them, please say hello and share your thoughts about the future of Parkway Place.
